Chapter 1: I Criticized the Lack of Immersion and Got Forcefully Immersed Into the Novel World

When reading web novels, there were times when an interesting story suddenly lost its appeal due to the author’s ridiculous plot twists.

Ordinary readers usually had two reactions in such cases. They either quietly stopped reading the novel, or they would continue reading out of a sense of trust in the author who had so far provided entertaining content.

The reactions of overly immersed readers also divided into two types.

They either left comments like, “I’m dropping this. Author, better change your career, clap clap!”

Or they sent a 5,700-character message filled with their fury.

If someone was about to write a 5,700-character message because they were dissatisfied with the current novel, I would like to tell them to please hold back just this once.

“Aah, fu*k.”

Because I ended up traveling to a fantasy world.

I experienced all sorts of hardships. I had to teach a lesson to adventurers who betrayed their own companions for a small amount of money, personally coached stubborn teammates who wouldn’t listen, and even took down that bastard of a demon king who tried to sacrifice all of humanity to summon a demon god.

The fantasy of a world filled with adventure? That dream had long been dead. No matter how much people complained about living in “Hell Joseon” I realized there was no better country than ours.

When I took in the familiar scenery of my room, I threw myself onto my bed and I felt the weight of the long journey lift.

“I’ll never read fantasy novels again, damn it…”

I swore and swore again.

“Ah, the protagonist is such an idiot.”

So I started reading martial arts novels instead of fantasy ones.

Actually, I didn’t want to dive into web novels anymore, but it was quite difficult to resist.

No matter how much one values everyday life, moments of boredom inevitably come, and web novels are the perfect content to pass the time. At least for me.

However, because I have experienced a real fantasy world, no matter how well-written a fantasy novel was, it failed to bring me any joy and only reminded me of the hardships I had endured. Naturally, I turned my attention to martial arts novels which I usually didn’t read.

“This is the first time I’ve read such a terrible novel.”

After devouring all the highly acclaimed and popular works, I had no choice but to lower my standards. I started sampling martial arts novels that were considered decent, and eventually, I came across the worst of the worst.

Only after reading it did I realize. That the comments and reviews for this work were just bait crafted with flowery words to trick others into experiencing this shitty novel too so that it won’t be just them.

“There isn’t a single part of this novel that I can immerse myself in.”

The nonsensical plot twists came one after another. There was not a shred of engagement to hold onto in this disastrous work.

Regret, heartbreak, and obsession stories have been popular recently, so maybe the author wanted to jump on that bandwagon. A few chapters ago, the protagonist witnessed his fiancée who had been fine until then promise a future with another man, and his childhood friend who had been insisting on being with the protagonist despite his engagement suddenly confessed that she liked his older brother instead.

Moreover, countless female heroines appeared and most of them showed deep affection for the protagonist only to leave abruptly soon after. As if it had never happened.

“I’m getting dizzy, really dizzy.”

I wondered if the author was an NTR fanatic who deserved to die, so I checked the novel’s tags but there was no such tag attached.

In the past, I would have immediately hurled a 700-character bomb into the author’s message box, but I held myself back.

Although I didn’t think it would happen twice, my current mood was like that of a soldier nearing discharge. I was cautious even of falling leaves.

“If I don’t read it, then it’s just fine.”

I had killed time well enough anyway. I had plans later on, so I closed the novel site I visited dozens of times a day.

Or at least, I tried to close it.

“What’s this? Is it lagging?”

No matter how many times I clicked the close button, the site wouldn’t shut down. Thinking it might be a lag, I tried Alt+F4 and even opened Task Manager to force quit, but nothing worked.

“I just got this computer…”

Just when I was considering forcibly shutting down the system, a bright light began to seep out of the monitor.

“……?”

I had definitely seen this somewhere before.

While my whole body was shaking from the sense of déjà vu, black text appeared on the monitor.

[Is it you again?]

“What the hell?”

I frantically looked at the monitor. I barely managed to confirm the author’s name beneath the title of the work.

“NovelGod2… you, you fu*king bastard!”

The author who had kidnapped me into a fantasy world was called NovelGod. The obviously pretentious pen name made my anger surge.

I should have been more careful, even with something like this. Why didn’t I ever check the name of the author?

While I was regretting my oversight, more text appeared on the monitor.

[No immersion? Then I’ll force you to be immersed.]

A strong suction force was generated from the monitor.

It was exactly the same as when I had been dragged into the fantasy world without knowing anything.

“This is crazy…!”

Countless thoughts raced through my mind in a short span of time, but it seemed there was no escape.

“No way, fu*k! I can’t even think it in my head?”

With a desperate shout, my body, or rather my soul, was sucked into the monitor.

Authors should be prepared for both good and bad comments. If they receive a 5700 characters bad comment, they should realize how bad their novels are. That god is so childish
