Chapter 61: Ji Yuhuang: The Side Account Logs In

Released:

What kind of cultivation technique is this supposed to be?!

Whose family would come up with something like that?!

At this very moment, Chu Feng finally understood what it meant to be tongue-tied. His body wasn’t even under his own control anymore.

“No wonder you’re the champion among first-rank cultivators! Such courage is truly admirable!”

Zhao Shoucheng immediately stood up and began clapping enthusiastically. “Let’s give him a round of applause!”

Clap clap clap—

The sound of thunderous applause filled the hall.

Seeing this scene, Ji Yuhuang’s crimson lips curved upward. So what if Lu Xiyue got there first? Ji Yuhuang had gone straight for the final step!

As for love… that could always be cultivated later. What mattered most was claiming her spot first.

I am the main wife. The Empress Consort.

“Little Cao, did you record everything just now?”

“Yes, Your Majesty. This servant recorded the entire thing from beginning to end.”

“Excellent.”

Ji Yuhuang wasn’t a petty woman. Since something this delightful had happened, it was only right to share it with her dear friend from her previous life.

“Little Cao, remember this. Make a backup copy in a few days, and in Our name, send a copy to the Moonlight Sword Fairy of the Heaven’s Pinnacle Sect.”

“This servant obeys.”

Ji Yuhuang was in an excellent mood, rather looking forward to seeing Lu Xiyue’s reaction.

Only after the applause subsided did Chu Feng finally regain control of his body.

Just then, Eunuch Cao’s voice rang out again:

“By Her Majesty’s decree, Young Master Chu Feng may enter and leave the palace at will from now on, including the imperial bedchamber.”

The moment those words fell, the entire court was struck dumb once again. Wasn’t Her Majesty being a little too generous with this young man?!

Only Zhao Shoucheng remained calm; it seemed his suspicions were right. Her Majesty had long since set her eyes on Chu Feng.

“W-Wait! Your Majesty, perhaps we should… reconsider this?”

Chu Feng spoke up at once. This was the Empress, for heaven’s sake!

Even if it hadn’t truly been him proposing just now, he had never imagined that the Empress would actually accept!

Leaving aside the vast difference in status, his own feelings were already a tangled mess. His master and Senior Sister Yuyan hadn’t even been sorted out yet, and now a female emperor had joined the mix.

Chu Feng could practically see the Grim Reaper waving him over.

“You wish to go back on your word?”

That icy, majestic voice rang out again.

Chu Feng looked toward the distant Empress, but no matter how hard he tried, he still couldn’t make out her features.

She must have used some secret art to conceal her face.

“Forgive me, Your Majesty, but I cannot obey.”

Chu Feng spoke through the crushing weight of her imperial aura.

“My words, once spoken, are never taken back. Besides, it was you who took the initiative and confessed your feelings to Us.”

Chu Feng was speechless. Technically… she wasn’t wrong.

“Someone, escort Young Master Chu Feng to the side hall. Make arrangements for his stay. When the next auspicious day arrives, We shall announce it to the world.”

Ji Yuhuang made the final decision without hesitation. First she’d tie down her little husband… ahem, keep him close.

“Hold on a moment, Your Majesty, I think—”

Before Chu Feng could finish, two Dragon-Phoenix Guards stepped forward.

“Young Master Chu Feng, please come with us.”

……

Inside the palace, Side Hall.

Chu Feng was politely “escorted” to the room by the two Dragon-Phoenix Guards.

“We ask that Young Master Chu Feng remain here quietly for the time being.”

Bang!

The door shut firmly behind him, locking him inside.

He was doomed. Somehow, he’d ended up proposing to the Empress and she had actually accepted!

He thought about how emperors were supposed to have harems full of three thousand beauties, yet here he was… apparently becoming one of her three thousand men.

He quickly took out his communication jade, trying to contact someone from the Heaven’s Pinnacle Sect. But no matter how many times he called, there was no response at all.

Grrr—

An untimely sound came from his stomach. Chu Feng clutched it in embarrassment.

After the martial competition, he hadn’t eaten a single bite.

He’d originally planned to get something at the banquet, but before he could even pick up his chopsticks, he was dragged away and locked up. Not a drop of water, not a grain of rice.

Just then, a rich aroma drifted through the air.

“So fragrant!”

Chu Feng turned toward the source. The scent was coming from inside the room.

When he walked over to look, he saw a large table full of steaming dishes.

“Don’t tell me… the Empress personally had this prepared for me?”

Chu Feng glanced around the room. The decorations were all distinctly feminine but then again, since the emperor was a woman, that wasn’t all that surprising.

He was the only one in the room, and given the circumstances, the food was probably meant for him.

At this point, there was only one thing to say: “Since things have come to this… might as well eat first.”

A short while later—

Burp~

Chu Feng let out a satisfied belch. Say what you will, but imperial cuisine really was on another level.

Hmm?

All of a sudden, Chu Feng sensed a presence approaching. So close that it was practically right beside him, yet he hadn’t noticed it at all before!

“Who’s there?!”

He immediately stood and turned around only to see a woman in red appear before him.

Wasn’t this the same big sister who’d shown him the way earlier?!

“Little brother, it’s one thing to eat your big sister’s dinner…but to be so rude to your sister afterward—hmm?”

That’s right. Ji Yuhuang had already changed into her “side account”.

The main account had already secured the title; now the side account would work on building affection.

“Ah? This was your dinner?!”

Chu Feng looked down at the half-empty dishes on the table, panic creeping over his face.

What now? He’d just eaten someone else’s meal!

“Little brother, earlier you called your big sister ‘wife’ and now you’ve eaten her dinner. And didn’t you say you were going to attend a banquet? So why are you in your sister’s room now?”

Faced with the red-clothed woman’s string of questions, Chu Feng suddenly didn’t know how to respond.

What was he supposed to say? That he proposed to the Empress, she accepted, and then had someone bring him here?

If he said that out loud, people would probably think he was crazy.

“Little brother, why aren’t you saying anything?”

Ji Yuhuang looked at her little husband’s anxious expression and held back the urge to pull him into her arms and give him a good squeeze.

“I’m sorry~”

With no other option, Chu Feng pulled out some spirit stones from his storage pouch.

“Sister, this is all the spirit stones I have. See if it’s enough to cover the cost of the meal.”

Besides offering spirit stones as compensation, Chu Feng couldn’t think of any other way to make it right.

“Sister was only joking. Little brother, keep your spirit stones.”

Ji Yuhuang looked at the mere three hundred spirit stones her little husband had and felt dissatisfied. Lu Xiyue was way too stingy. When her main account came tomorrow, she’d give her little husband ten thousand spirit stones first.

“But I ate your food, sister. I should at least compensate you.”

“It’s fine. With my current cultivation, it’s just one meal….it doesn’t matter. But if you really want to make it up to me… how about little brother keeps me company for the night?”

“Huh?!”

Chu Feng was stunned.

Keep her company for the night? What exactly did she mean by keep her company?

After all, the word “company” could be followed by many things. Like a meal, a drink, some fun, or…

Ahem. Any further, and this conversation would need to move elsewhere.

“Sister has been alone here for far too long. When the night falls and everything goes quiet, it gets awfully… lonely. I’ve always wished for someone to chat with and ease the boredom.”

Ji Yuhuang let out a soft sigh, like a beautiful woman who’d been lonely in her boudoir for far too long.

Late at night, just the two of them, a world of their own. A young man and a lonely beauty.

One was a passionate young man.

The other was a beautiful woman who had long been alone.

What kind of sparks would fly between the two?

It was a REALLY good move to not reveal yourself as the empress, a weaker willed MC would’ve caved.
