The next morning, as usual, Lin Que got up early to prepare a nutritious breakfast for Qin Wanyuan. Meanwhile, she sat on the bed, staring blankly at the torn white stockings in her hands.
“Do I really have to wear these stockings to visit Senior Sister…?”
Even though she had no choice, she still felt uneasy deep down.
“Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I’ll just have to go for it…for the sake of the quest reward!”
The system’s quest rewards were always proportional to the difficulty. For example, the earlier task that had Lin Que make eye contact with Jiang Moqing had only given a single bottle of stamina potion.
But this time, not only would it increase Lin Que’s charm stat and her own physique, there was even a set of Dream Share Talismans.
Once completed, she’d be able to re-enter the shared dream between Lin Que and Jiang Moqing that very night and uncover how those two got together. And, more importantly, how they ended up parting.
Last time, the dream had ended at a strange moment, leaving Qin Wanyuan incredibly curious about how the story would unfold. The itch to know more was unbearable.
It gave her the same feeling as waiting outside a teahouse every day, eager to catch the next installment from a storyteller.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Qin Wanyuan finally pulled on the torn white stockings.
When she looked down, the holes in the stockings seemed almost like a kind of inappropriate embellishment. Especially one particularly dramatic tear, which revealed a large patch of fair, smooth skin.
Although the stockings had been thoroughly washed and dried with spellwork, leaving no trace behind, just seeing those holes instantly brought back memories of how Lin Que had torn them off the night before… and how he’d held her legs while doing it…
“Ugh… It’s still so embarrassing after all.”
Taking a deep breath, Qin Wanyuan finally got up and retrieved the light blue Floating Fairy Dress from the wardrobe. Lin Que had washed and dried it that morning before hanging it back inside.
After dressing neatly, Qin Wanyuan stood in front of the dressing table and carefully checked herself for anything out of place. She tugged the hem of her skirt a little lower, hiding the torn white stockings even more deeply beneath it.
Fortunately, both she and Jiang Moqing lived on Drunken Jade Peak, which only housed five people in total and aside from Lin Que, they were all women. Otherwise, she would never have dared to leave the house wearing something so embarrassing.
After breakfast, Qin Wanyuan headed out. Lin Que, on the other hand, stayed home with Qin Qian’er.
When it came to boundaries with his sister-in-law, Lin Que remained very proper. While Qin Qian’er was studying the phoenix egg in his room, he sat out in the pavilion reading, making sure not to be alone with her indoors.
“So the second fragment’s acupoint is on the arm, huh…”
Lin Que studied the contents of the fragment, raising his right arm and frowning slightly.
At first glance, there didn’t appear to be anything wrong with his right hand. But upon closer inspection, a faint tremor could be seen.
This was a lingering injury from the demonic cultivator siege at Lian City years ago. Despite having used countless rare herbs and having rebuilt his cultivation to the Core Formation stage, the old wound had never fully healed.
The internal meridians in his arm had suffered near-fatal damage. While daily life was manageable, wielding a sword in combat was a different story.
Thankfully, during the time his cultivation had been crippled, Lin Que hadn’t given up. He had trained rigorously with his left hand and had become highly skilled with the left-handed sword.
Even so, there was still a noticeable gap compared to his dominant right hand.
Now, reading this fragment and realizing it contained a method that might heal the old injury in his right arm, Lin Que couldn’t help but feel a spark of joy in his eyes.
“Repair the meridians… reopen the acupoints, huh…”
A faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
Just as he was preparing to fully immerse himself in studying the scroll, the little demon who hadn’t shown up for a while suddenly appeared on his shoulder.
As always, the little demon wore a gothic-style black Lolita dress. If there was any difference, it was that the black stockings she usually wore had, at some point, been replaced with mismatched thigh-highs. One black, one white.
“Didn’t expect you to get this happy over something so small,” she remarked.
“Is healing one’s meridians really a small matter? Besides, the remaining fragments also contain ways to repair the rest of my damaged meridians. I think that’s worth being happy about,” Lin Que replied calmly, placing a hand over his chest.
Wounds severe enough to cripple a cultivator weren’t so easily healed. Back then, when his senior sister went missing during a mission, Lin Que’s cultivation was destroyed. Powerless to help her, he was even knocked unconscious and confined in a cave by An Xiaoyao.
In what seemed like a hopeless situation, the little demon had appeared.
She healed Lin Que just enough to give him the strength to rescue Jiang Moqing. The price, however, was that from that point onward, the two of them would be bound together.
To save Jiang Moqing, Lin Que accepted the deal.
Even so, the little demon hadn’t been able to heal all his wounds. His right hand, heart meridians, and dantian were the three worst injuries. And even now, they still caused him lingering pain.
That was why he couldn’t break through the bottleneck of the Core Formation stage and reach the Nascent Soul realm.
Whether the little demon truly couldn’t heal those injuries or simply chose not to was something only she knew.
Hearing Lin Que’s explanation, the little demon scoffed, her pretty face full of disdain.
“Tch. Are you actually dumb, or just pretending to be? If you really wanted to, healing those old wounds would take you a single night, tops.”
“I’m no god. How could I possibly do something like that?” Lin Que shrugged, acting as though he didn’t understand the implication behind her words.
“Cut the act. I can smell the dragon scent on you. You went to see that white-haired dragon girl yesterday, didn’t you? Do I really need to teach you how to heal yourself?”
The little demon put on a cheerful smile. “The Dragon Clan’s secret body refining technique once mastered can reshape one’s entire musculature and bones. With overwhelming dragon might, trivial problems like damaged meridians would naturally be resolved. And you… you’re just one step away from mastering it.”
Lin Que didn’t respond, and the little demon who was already used to his silence simply went on.
“I’m guessing that little dragon girl couldn’t handle hardship and never actually trained in the technique. She just knew it was powerful, so she handed the secret over to you without even reading the first page. If I’m not mistaken, it says right there: ‘Those without Dragon Clan blood cannot cultivate this technique’.”
“But who would’ve thought that some human with no dragon bloodline would actually train in it and make it work? What a pity, though. Because you lack dragon blood, the technique can never reach perfection. Isn’t that right, Lin Que~?”
Hearing the little demon’s words, Lin Que finally spoke. “So what exactly are you trying to say?”
“Hmph. Are you really that dumb, or are you pretending? With your physique, all you need to do is take that white-haired dragon girl’s virginity, and you’ll gain the Dragon Clan’s bloodline. Then you’ll master the body refining technique, rebuild your muscles and bones, and your meridian problem will be solved. Isn’t that killing two birds with one stone?”
“…..”
Lin Que frowned.
“Worried she’ll get clingy? Don’t be. With how much that white-haired dragon girl adores you, even if you only wanted a one-night stand, she wouldn’t say no. She’d probably be more than happy to oblige.”
At this point, the little demon suddenly leaned in close to Lin Que’s ear and whispered, “So? You don’t need me to spell it out anymore, do you?”
“Yeah. I know what I need to do.”
Lin Que nodded seriously.
The little demon looked delighted, thinking Lin Que had finally come around.
However—
The next second, Lin Que flicked his finger, striking the little demon’s forehead with lightning speed before she could react.
“Ah!”
The little demon cried out in pain. Last time, she’d dodged Lin Que’s forehead flick, but this time, she was caught off guard, failed to avoid it, and immediately crouched down, clutching her forehead.
“I should’ve done that a long time ago.”
Lin Que let out a helpless sigh. “Seriously, is there anything in your head besides perverted thoughts?”
“What do you know? Without indulgence, life is utterly boring! Living in the moment is the true path we should pursue!”
Despite the pain in her forehead, the little demon forced herself to stay calm and answered self-righteously.
“…Forget it, forget it. I can’t win an argument with you.”
Lin Que hadn’t intended to debate philosophy with the little demon anyway, so he simply dropped the topic and went back to studying the fragmented scroll.
As for the little demon…whether it was because her attempt at seduction had failed yet again, or because of the flick to her forehead, she stormed off in a huff.

Elsewhere, Qin Wanyuan, dressed in a light blue flowing fairy dress, had arrived at Jiang Moqing’s cave residence.
When the two met, Qin Wanyuan could feel Jiang Moqing’s gaze roaming over the Floating Fairy Dress she was wearing.
“Sword training?” Jiang Moqing, as always, got straight to the point.
Hearing her words, Qin Wanyuan took a deep breath, then spoke the line she had prepared in advance.
“Let’s not train today. It’d be a shame if I accidentally damaged this Floating Fairy Dress from the Glazed Pavilion that was a gift from Lin Lang.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Qin Wanyuan noticed… Jiang Moqing’s delicate brows visibly twitched.
