555. Anonymous Defender
It’s my first time working with monster players.
Feeling a bit nervous, lol.
556. Anonymous Defender
In a mining city, there should be plenty of rare metals and such.
Seems like we could upgrade our equipment.
557. Anonymous Defender
>>555 They may look menacing on the outside, but they’re still players on the inside, so there’s no need to be afraid.
558. Anonymous Defender
There seems to be a limit on carried items.
What should I bring with me?
559. Anonymous Defender
>>555 I’m actually more afraid of those demons (PK players) that are disguised as humans.
There are rumors that a job exclusively for PK has been found, and the only truly safe place is in the city.
560. Anonymous Defender
Is it intentional that there’s so little pre-information?
Isn’t that kind of user-unfriendly?
561. Anonymous Defender
>>556 Seems like the materials for those insanely expensive gear sold at Firth and Sekan. I think we can have high expectations.
562. Anonymous Defender
Illeves, the stage for the event, is a city of the Lichtenburg Kingdom that discriminates against non-humans, right?
As monster players, are we likely to face discrimination?
563. Anonymous Defender
>>559 I’ve heard that PK players are forming large guilds, so it’s pretty scary. There are rumors that they’ve even recruited production job players and have gear that rivals the top players.
564. Anonymous Defender
I don’t mind as long as I make a good profit. It’s an event, after all.
565. Anonymous Defender
It’s called a defense battle, so players with long-range attack abilities like mages are likely to shine.
566. Anonymous Defender
>>558 Healing Potions and antidote Potions are a must, right?
The rest can be based on personal preference, I guess?
567. Anonymous Defender
I tried researching in the library, and Illeves seems to be on the northern edge of the kingdom.
It looks like if you walk along the northern forest from Firth, you’ll eventually reach it.
568. Anonymous Defender
>>567 According to the map, it seems that way, but there’s reportedly an area always covered in mist, making it a suicide mission to head there directly.
This information comes from the guild, so it’s reliable.
569. Anonymous Defender
>>568 Seriously? Have you heard anything about the recommended level?
570. Anonymous Defender
>>569 I have.
According to the guild, they recommend being at least level 70 or higher.
571. Anonymous Defender
>>570 Lol.
572. Anonymous Defender
>>570 That’s way too high!
573. Anonymous Defender
>>570 What kind of monsters are there? lol
574. Anonymous Defender
>>570 Even in the strategy group, reaching level 50 is a challenge, right?
Raising it by 20 levels or so is pretty ambitious!
575. Anonymous Defender
Is it okay to have a recommended level of 70 in a place like the first continent?
576. Anonymous Defender
>>575 Not exactly on-topic, but I’ll explain. This game is a virtual world created using WSS, which stands for World Simulation System.
So, unlike in retro games where enemy mobs gradually get stronger, it’s not guaranteed. Just because it’s a continent where the first village is located doesn’t mean only weak mobs will appear.
577. Anonymous Defender
Continuing from 576,
Sometimes, there are fields with mobs that are a whole lot different in strength than the surrounding areas. Although they don’t attack NPCs themselves, these are territories of extremely strong mobs that cannot be eliminated by even the strongest of players. The Misty Area is one such place, I guess.
578. Anonymous Defender
>>577 Oh, I didn’t know that.
579. Anonymous Defender
>>577 So, does that mean it wouldn’t be strange to have level 100 monsters on this continent too?
580. Anonymous Defender
>>579 Exactly. Firth is pretty much considered the backwoods as far as human habitation goes, being on the western edge. Strong mobs are said to be beyond the northern mountains or deep in the western woods. The reason there are only weak mobs around Firth is that they have distanced themselves from the territory of the stronger ones in the interior.
As a result, the enemy’s strength naturally increases, so it’s not really a problem from a gaming perspective, I guess.
581. Anonymous Defender
>>580 On the flip side, the closer you get to thriving towns, the less profitable monsters there are, but that’s a drawback to consider.
Let’s get back to the topic of the event though. Somehow, we’ve veered into the territory of the world-building thread.
582. Anonymous Defender
>>580 Yeah, that’s true. I learned a lot though.
583. Anonymous Defender
Speaking of world-building, what’s the deal with the city “Punishers”?
They seem more than capable of repelling monster attacks.
584. Anonymous Defender
>>581 According to the resident adventurers, there are rumors of cities or nations of monsters. It depends on the kind of monsters, but it seems like we’d be in trouble if a war were to break out, lol.
585. Anonymous Defender
>>583 Unfortunately, if I were to accurately name the “Punishers” I would call them more precisely the “Criminal Players Punishers”.
In the world’s lore, we are beings summoned by the goddess, essentially operating with temporary physical forms. Therefore, a player’s misconduct equates to a failing on the goddess’s part.
So, the Punishers serve as a tool for condemning player crimes and remain entirely hands-off in the conflicts between NPC humans and monsters!
586. Anonymous Defender
>>585 Continuation. I’d like to add that, for the City Punishers, the definition of a “city” is the area enclosed within city walls. So, if the city gates or walls get breached, they become immobile. Once that happens, you can do whatever you want.
This means that player attacks on cities are possible. While minor crimes within the city are strictly prohibited, it seems like the management is okay with major events like city takeovers.
587. Anonymous Defender
>>586 That’s kind of scary.
588. Anonymous Defender
>>586 Oh, really… (confused)
589. Anonymous Defender
>>586 Starting a war is a possibility, huh? φ(..)
590. Anonymous Defender
>>586 That’s way too scary!
591. Anonymous Defender
>>589 I’m reporting this!

Aww…. my little baby is so cute…
[Images] [Images]
90. Oil gourd
Animals are definitely popular, but can we get more reptile enthusiasts in here?
91. Ororon
>>89 Aww^~, It’s so cute~! It’s really soothing~.
92. Bobby
I heard from a resident trainer recently that if we properly recover the corpses of our tamed companions, we can actually revive them.
I don’t plan on letting them die easily, but knowing there’s a way to help them has put my mind at ease a bit.
93. Erika
>>92 I don’t know if something like that could happen, but I have already acquired [Healing Magic]. I’m not letting it go to chance.
94. Xiao Long Bao
>>93 Did you become a priest for [Healing Magic]? Lol. Impressive!
95. Special Student
>>93 Oh, Erika, you’re already over level 40.
The best trainers are truly in a league of their own.
96. Erika
>>95 I won’t spare any effort to be with these little ones as long as possible.
97. Kite Jar
>>90 I’m also a fan of reptiles, and amphibians too.
Come to think of it, can you tame insects or plants? I haven’t heard of anyone doing it.
98. Oil gourd
>>97 Now that you mention it, I haven’t heard of it either. Has anyone tried?
99. Mountain sheep
>>97 I have no idea.
100. Pile Diver
>>97 No clue here either.
101. Ororon
>>97 ┐(‘~`;)┌
102. Erika
>>97 I have no interest in anything other than Fluffy ones.
103. Bobby
>>102 True, you’re unwavering! lol
But, it seems like insects and plants may not be impossible to tame, although there might be some specific conditions. The resident who talked about revival mentioned rumors of jobs like insect trainers or plant trainers, but the conditions are shrouded in mystery. It’s like a hidden job or something.
104. Special Student
>>103 Thanks for the info!
I never thought there was hidden stuff for trainers… I used to think that was just for major jobs like swordsmen or magicians.
105. Kite jar
>>103 Conditions, huh?
For plants, it might have something to do with skills like [Farming]. After all, taking care of plants would be the main task.
As for insects… I wonder if it involves using pheromones?
106. Xiao Long Bao
>>105 Pheromones? That sounds plausible and scary at the same time!
But how would you even handle something like that? Is there a skill to control the smell?
107. Mountain sheep
I’m just curious, but can we tame undead creatures like zombies?
108. Ororon
>>107 It’s like I wish it’s impossible, but then again, I kinda don’t wish that, lol.
But more importantly, check this out! What do you think of this?
[Image][Image]
109. Pile Diver
>>108 A collar with effects, huh!?
110. Oil Gourd
>>108 Oooooh!?
111. Erika
>>108 [Image][Image][Image]
112. Ororon
>>111 So, you did have it after all, huh, lol.
This is a custom-made item from the exclusive pet supply store, “Heart’s Delight” in the trading city of Sekan. They make stylish and perfect accessories for the client’s pets. They have a strict policy of no entry for first-time visitors without a referral.
They create items that are entirely tailored to the client’s pet, including clothing, armor, and even anklets, if you ask for it.
113. Kitagawa
>>112 Hey, we’re friends, right?
114. Mountain sheep
>>112 It’s not good to hide things, brother, right?
115. Special Student
>>112 Please introduce me! I’ll do anything for it!
116. Kite Jar
>>115 Huh?
117. Xiao Long Bao
>>115 Huh?
118. Bobby
>>115 Huh?
119. Ororon
>>115 Huh? You did say you’d do anything, right?
Jokes aside, it seems like introducing you might be impossible. Just so you know, it’s not because I’m being stingy or anything, but I don’t have the authority to make referrals.
120. Erika
Only upper-tier members recognized by the store are allowed to write referral letters. Moreover, if a member writes a referral letter for someone who doesn’t meet the membership criteria, they’ll be expelled. So, referral letters can only be given to people you truly trust.
It’s just not possible to introduce someone who, at the very least, you haven’t had a face-to-face conversation with.
121. Oil Gourd
I see. Well, that makes sense.
122. Hikko
Then, can you at least provide information about the residents who introduced you…
123. Erika
>>122 It seems that referral letters can’t be written without limitations. The person who wrote the referral letter can’t write a new one until the store decides whether the person they referred is trustworthy or not.
124. Bobby
>>123 So, it’s all about preventing the store from getting an influx of customers who might tarnish its reputation.
They really hold the store in high regard.
125. Xiao Long Bao
>>124 It’s because it’s worth that much, right? It seems like it costs a lot.
126. Ororon
>>125 You hit the nail on the head. In my case, a single piece of equipment wiped out 80% of my assets.
Trainers can make a decent profit because, as a player, they have a team of monsters, allowing them to collect quest fees and such without splitting it among a party, but…
127. Kite Jar
>>126 In the end, you’ll need high-end equipment for your beast companions, so you can see a future where no amount of money is enough.
128. Special Student
Gotta start thinking about money-making from now on. (Sense of duty)
