Chapter 123: I Knew It Was You! Went to Thailand?

Published on

Chu Feng walked along the tree-lined path. Following this road, he would soon return to the cave residence where he was temporarily staying. It was getting late, and if he delayed any longer, the sister saintess would surely start to worry.

However, as he kept walking, he began to sense something was off. Why hadn’t he reached the end of the path yet?

Judging by the time, he should have been home by now. Since he clearly wasn’t, there could only be one explanation:

He was lost!

“How strange… could it be because it’s getting dark?”

Rubbing his chin in thought, Chu Feng decided to retrace his steps. At the very least, that would take him back to the main hall, and from there he could ask Aunt Zi for help.

Haha! I’m a damn genius!

Though a bit embarrassing, it couldn’t be helped. After all, the whole point of having a bottom line… was so it could be lowered again next time.

Chu Feng turned around and began walking back the way he came. Before long, he ran into two young women head-on. If he remembered correctly, they were the disciples who had been with that elegant lady earlier…though now the lady was nowhere to be seen.

Determined to uphold his gentlemanly manners, he decided to let them pass first.

Chu Feng stepped to the side of the path, making way for them.

As the two girls slowly approached him and the distance between them narrowed, the cold yin energy within him that had been suppressed until now by the five-colored light gradually began to stir restlessly.

After the two girls brushed past him, Chu Feng also began retracing his steps.

One step, two steps, three steps—

As soon as he took the third step, Chu Feng suddenly turned around. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned Little Bai. Sword qi burst forth immediately. The entire motion was executed in one smooth, fluid motion.

Clang—

The sound of metal clashing rang out. Chu Feng had swung his sword and so had his opponent. The two blades collided head-on.

And the one who had blocked Chu Feng’s strike was none other than the last girl from earlier.

Chu Feng’s expression was complicated as he looked at the youthful, energetic girl in front of him. With a face full of admiration, he said, “Lin Ruo, I really didn’t expect you to actually go all the way to Thailand and abandon the brother who’s been with you since birth.”

As he’d suspected, there was definitely something strange about this woman. Aside from Lin Ruo, he couldn’t think of anyone else who could stir the cold yin energy within him.

Though “Lin Ruo” didn’t understand what Chu Feng meant by “Thailand”, it clearly wasn’t a compliment. Running into Chu Feng here…what a heaven-sent opportunity.

The corners of his mouth curled into a twisted, cruel smile. “Chu Feng, let’s see who can save you today!”

Chu Feng lowered his stance, raising the tip of his sword. The blade erupted with a sharp gleam.

In an instant, terrifying sword qi sliced through the sword in “Lin Ruo’s” hand.

Chu Feng went all out. This time, he intended to eliminate Lin Ruo, this dire threat, once and for all.

Just as he was about to slice off Lin Ruo’s head, another young woman floated lightly to Lin Ruo’s side and casually extended two fingers, effortlessly pinching the sword strike that was brimming with sword intent.

Clang!

Little Bai was tightly caught between her fingers, unable to move forward even an inch.

“Not good!”

Chu Feng’s expression instantly changed. This was the first time he had ever felt something like this…his sword qi was as if trapped in a bottomless swamp, completely absorbed by the woman before him.

He had originally thought Lin Ruo was his only enemy, but now he realized this woman was one too…and she was by no means weak.

The woman raised an eyebrow and said, “Impressive, kid. To think you’ve cultivated such terrifying sword qi. If this Venerable One hadn’t stepped in, Lin Ruo would’ve been sliced to pieces.”

This Venerable one…

When he heard how she referred to herself, Chu Feng’s heart sank. Everyone knew that people who used titles like this one, this venerable one, or this emperor were never ordinary. They were always some overpowered boss types, terrifying beyond belief.

Without hesitation, he took out the Azure Needle Talisman, infused it with his true qi, and countless green needles shot toward the woman.

The woman released the sword, grabbed “Lin Ruo”, and retreated. As she looked at the oncoming needles, a purple light glowed from her palm, transforming into a huge mouth that swallowed all the green needles in one gulp.

In the next second, Chu Feng gathered all the true qi in his body, infused it into his green needles, and prepared to end the battle in just three breaths with a sword strike!

Boom!

The immense sword qi sliced through all the surrounding trees, yet the huge mouth still effortlessly devoured the attack and even let out a satisfied burp.

Seeing his strike once again neutralized so easily, Chu Feng realized he had truly encountered his toughest enemy yet. Even when Lin Ruo was in a possessed state, his strongest move could at least deal some damage.

Cough, cough!

Unleashing that technique completely drained the true qi in his body. He urgently needed to pop some pills to restore his energy and shorten his skill’s cooldown.

“What an interesting boy. This venerable one is starting to admire you,” the woman said with a cold smile at the corner of her lips.

“Well, since you admire me so much, I’m not a stingy person. I suppose it’s only fair to give a little gift to a fan,” Chu Feng replied.

He downed three bottles of qi-replenishing pills in one go. Just eating the pills was enough to make him feel full.

Luckily, he had plenty of pills in his storage pouch. Those were gifts from his master and the Empress. With these alone, he could spam his “Three-Breath Sword Draw” without cooldown. That’s the power of pay-to-win….no, pill-to-win!

However, this time, he didn’t plan to use the “Three-Breath Sword Draw” again.

Instead, he was going to let them taste his newly forged Great Sword.

It was even glowing. Super flashy!

With a single thought, five-colored sword qi appeared in his hand.

As the five-colored sword qi appeared, Chu Feng’s energy bar dropped at a visibly rapid pace.

With such a terrifying rate of consumption, an average player wouldn’t be able to handle it. They would be simply lacking the resources. Only someone like him, a pill-to-win player, could barely keep it going.

He pulled out another bottle of pills and dumped it into his mouth. While chewing, he shouted, “Hya! Take my sword!”

Not far away, the woman was curious to see what kind of trick Chu Feng was trying to pull. After all, he was just a mere second-rank ant. He wouldn’t be jumping around for long in her eyes.

But when she saw the five-colored sword qi, her eyebrows twitched. She had never seen sword qi like that before, and she felt a faint sense of danger. Still, she quickly dismissed it…what a joke, just a lowly second-rank cultivator!

“Not bad, kid. That’s some nice sword qi, but it’s all in vain. No matter what tricks you try, this venerable one will stand right here and not move. If I so much as flinch, I’m a dog!”

Her voice was full of absolute confidence in her own strength.

Hearing that, Chu Feng couldn’t help but think of that one Dark Boss Emperor An Sang who died because he refused to dodge.

He charged the sword qi with true qi once again, then downed three more bottles of pills. Great. Now he was stuffed.

But the light radiating from the sword qi was blindingly intense.

“Go!”

Chu Feng immediately released the sword qi. It surged against the wind, instantly expanding into a sword qi several meters long.

Facing this strike, the giant purple mouth was torn apart in an instant. The woman’s protective purple light activated at once, forming a barrier. But under the force of the sword qi, it lasted only three breaths before shattering.

At that moment, panic flashed in the woman’s eyes. With her fourth-rank cultivation combined with the boost from her soul power, she could rival a fifth-rank expert, yet she couldn’t withstand a single blow from a mere second-rank cultivator!

Just as the five-colored sword qi was about to shred her body, her figure retreated rapidly. She placed her palm on “Lin Ruo’s” shoulder, and a flash of purple light enveloped them both, as if something had separated from their bodies.

The woman’s gaze gradually cleared. Seeing the five-colored sword qi right before her, she caught the scent of death.

Bang!

The jade pendant at her waist shattered, forming a golden barrier of light.

Boom!

Within a fifty-meter radius, all the surrounding trees were instantly pulverized.

“Did it work?”

Chu Feng asked weakly. That sword qi had been filled to the brim with true qi.

Before the dust had even settled, a voice rang out.

“You impudent brat!”

A figure rapidly approached from the distance. It was the elegant woman they had seen earlier.

She appeared right before Chu Feng.

As the dust settled, the woman’s figure was revealed. Though the golden barrier hadn’t been completely shattered, it had been slashed open with a large gash.

Seeing this, the elegant woman was filled with shock. A golden barrier capable of withstanding an attack from a fifth-rank expert had actually been torn open by a mere second-rank brat.

“It’s over. Beat the younger one, and now the elder shows up.”

Chu Feng muttered weakly. Now he truly understood how protagonists felt….no wonder they always ran after a fight early on. When the elder shows up, how are you supposed to fight? With your head?

The small one might be worth a try. The big one? Forget it.
