Chapter 23: Opening the Acupoints

Released:

Lin Que set the egg aside, intending to consult the knowledgeable An Xiaoyao about it tomorrow.

Tonight, he planned to take good care of the injured Qin Wanyuan.

Under the bright moonlight, Qin Wanyuan sat by the bedside in a light robe, her bare face calm and serene. One long leg extended out from under the covers, toes gently pointed as she enjoyed the cool night breeze.

Lin Que’s gaze naturally drifted toward her, and she noticed it.

His direct stare made her slightly embarrassed and her cheeks blushed with a faint flush.

Lin Lang seems to be looking at my feet more and more lately… Could it be the effect of that foot-soaking prescription? Or maybe it’s just weird to soak feet with a medicinal formula after all?

Qin Wanyuan couldn’t quite figure it out and felt a bit uneasy.

However—

The next second, Lin Que suddenly sat down beside the bed and gently took hold of her right foot, examining it closely.

“Lin Lang… what’s the matter?”

Startled by his sudden movement, Qin Wanyuan didn’t pull away. Her foot arched slightly, and her soft pink toes curled shyly.

“Wanyuan, you’ve sprained your foot,” Lin Que said seriously.

“Eh?”

Qin Wanyuan was stunned. She lowered her head only then did she notice that her right foot was indeed a bit red and swollen.

“It must have been when I got ambushed earlier today… I probably twisted it without realizing. It’s nothing serious. After a night’s rest, it should be fine.”

“That won’t do. An injury needs proper treatment. What if it leaves lasting damage?”

Lin Que spoke firmly, making no move to let go of Qin Wanyuan’s ankle. “As it happens, I recently learned a massage technique that promotes circulation and reduces swelling. It’s quite effective.”

“Is that so…”

Seeing how insistent he was, Qin Wanyuan didn’t resist any further. Still, she shyly pulled the blanket up to cover half her face, leaving only her eyes peeking out, occasionally glancing toward her foot.

The young man sitting at the bedside wore a look of utmost seriousness. It was clear he wasn’t doing this just to tease her.

He genuinely cared for her. Enough to take even a minor sprain like this seriously.

Qin Wanyuan felt a wave of emotion rise in her heart, her nose tingling with the urge to cry.

After flexing his wrist slightly, Lin Que began the treatment.

He gathered spiritual energy at his fingertips and gently massaged the red, swollen area of her ankle, slowly working his way downward. Qin Wanyuan felt a strange, tingling sensation like an electric current. It was soft and numbing, familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.

“Ah~”

A soft moan escaped her lips before she quickly slapped a hand over her mouth. Her face turned red in an instant, and even the tips of her ears flushed so red they looked like they might bleed.

Qin Wanyuan froze completely. She knew she was sensitive in that way, but how… how could just touching her foot already make her—

I’m doomed. Lin Lang must think I’m some kind of strange woman now…

Qin Wanyuan glanced uneasily at Lin Que, but he seemed not to have heard her soft moan at all, remaining completely focused on the massage.

That gave her a small sense of relief.

But the next moment, the tension that had just started to ease returned with full force.

Lin Que suddenly pressed a specific acupoint at the center of her sole with his fingertip, and an intense jolt surged through her like a crashing wave, shooting straight from her foot to her head.

She instinctively clamped her pale legs together, her lips pressed tightly and her eyes misted over with tears. Her whole expression was on the verge of crying.

“Lin Lang… c-could we take a break?” she pleaded softly. “This sensation is too strange…”

“No can do. Once a massage starts, it must be finished. It might hurt a bit, but bear with it. If it gets too much, just bite the blanket,” Lin Que replied, not even lifting his head, fully focused on her treatment.

“O-Okay…”

Obediently, Qin Wanyuan bit down on the blanket.

She knew Lin Que would never hurt her, so she simply endured the waves of overwhelming sensations in silence.

About a quarter of an hour passed before Lin Que finally let out a deep breath and released her foot, looking relieved.

“It’s done, Wanyuan. How do you feel?”

When he looked up, he saw that at some point Qin Wanyuan had pulled the blanket completely over her head, hiding herself under it.

“Are you alright?”

“…I’m fine.”

Before Lin Que could lift the blanket to check on her, she peeked out just enough to show part of her face.

Under the moonlight, the beauty before him was drenched in sweat, her cheeks flushed like peach blossoms. For a moment, Lin Que was dazed. An urge welled up in him to pull her into his arms, kiss her deeply, and then…

But he shook his head and suppressed the thought.

No… Wanyuan is still recovering. I can’t disturb her rest like that.

Even though cultivators had resilient bodies, with Qin Wanyuan’s sensitive constitution and his current heightened desires, if they truly went further now, it could easily spiral out of control.

Qin Wanyuan was gentle by nature. If she noticed he was left unsatisfied, she’d likely force herself to go along with it for his sake. But if that happened, not only would it slow her recovery, it might even reopen her wounds.

I’ll just have to bear with it for now. Once she’s feeling better in a few days, I’ll talk to her about it then.

Heart-Cleansing Technique, activate!

Just then, Qin Wanyuan spoke in a soft voice, “Lin Lang, I sweated quite a bit just now… I’d like to take a bath. Could you help me heat some water?”

“Mhmm.”

Lin Que nodded. This would also give him a chance to cool down.

After he stepped out, Qin Wanyuan quickly got out of bed to change her clothes and the now-damp bedding.

So humiliating, so humiliating, so humiliating! I actually ended up like that in front of Lin Lang… If he finds out, he’ll definitely think I’m a strange woman!

Overwhelmed with shame, Qin Wanyuan summoned the system in her mind, looking as though she was ready to confront it head-on.

System! Get out here! Was there something wrong with that prescription?!

As she shouted inwardly, the system was promptly summoned.

[All items provided by this system are of the highest quality and guaranteed to be flawless. It’s only because the host is such a small fry that just having her foot touched would…]

Shut up!

Qin Wanyuan shouted in a mix of embarrassment and frustration.

The system obediently fell silent. After frowning in thought for a moment, she asked, “System, are you absolutely sure it wasn’t because of the prescription?”

[Of course not. A woman’s body has many sensitive areas. The feet being one of them. If touched by a partner, having a reaction is perfectly natural. There’s no need for the host to feel ashamed.]

…Is that really true?

Qin Wanyuan asked suspiciously.

She was indeed quite conservative. When it came to matters of intimacy, she was basically feeling her way through the dark. On top of that, she had always believed her relationship with Lin Que was fulfilling enough, so she’d never delved too deeply into it.

[Fair and honest, no deception.]

“…Alright.”

Qin Wanyuan realized that this probably had little to do with the system. After all, she had some understanding of just how sensitive her body could be.

Once she calmed down a bit, Qin Wanyuan suddenly blinked.

“But… why do I feel so refreshed? Like I’ve broken through a bottleneck that’s been stuck for ages…”

It was only then that she noticed some kind of change in her body.

After examining her internal organs and meridians, Qin Wanyuan was shocked to discover a startling fact.

“My acupoints… they’ve opened?!”
