The next day, Elder Wei and Zhao Lei returned with the two teams that had gone after the fox demon, but they looked a bit battered. Unfortunately, they hadn’t caught the fox demon. On top of that, they’d ended up clashing with the demon forces in the Luoyan Mountain Range.
Following the direction Bai Yuyan had indicated, Elder Wei and Zhao Lei led their teams all the way to the Luoyan Mountains within the Great Yan.
There were many demons residing there, though they had long since submitted to the Great Yan and usually stayed hidden deep in the mountains, rarely venturing out.
Zhao Lei recalled that there were fox demons in the Luoyan Mountains as well. He originally intended to gather some information, but the demon race proved extremely unfriendly toward humans and they accidentally stumbled upon a scene of the demons feeding on humans.
According to the alliance pact previously signed between the Great Yan and the demon race, harming humans was strictly forbidden.
Clearly, the demon race had violated the pact, and as a result, the two sides broke into a fierce fight, which ended up alarming a seventh-rank demon king. They barely made it out alive.
As soon as Elder Wei returned, he immediately summoned the new disciples, warning them that at the speed of a seventh-rank demon king, he could arrive here as soon as tonight.
Meanwhile, Zhao Lei went to report the matter to the commander of the Dragon Phoenix Guards.
After all, the strongest combat force in a single county was only at the sixth rank. Only provincial authorities had seventh-rank powerhouses stationed.
No one had expected that a seventh-rank demon king would emerge from the Luoyan Mountains!
Elder Wei looked at the assembled new disciples….someone was missing. Bai Yuyan wasn’t there!
“Where’s your Senior Sister who was leading you?”
Elder Wei asked urgently.
“Senior Sister went out with Chu Feng earlier this morning,” Liu Zhitong replied.
“What!?”
Elder Wei’s expression changed dramatically. If something happened to the personal disciple of the Moonlight Sword Fairy, he was finished!
“You all go back to the sect with your senior brothers. I’ll go find your Senior Sister myself!”
At this point, there was no time to waste. Not only that, but the entire county capital needed to be evacuated. A battle involving a seventh-rank demon king could easily destroy most of the city.

On a bustling street, the cries of street vendors rose and fell.
At this moment, Chu Feng was strolling through the marketplace with Bai Yuyan.
As they walked, passersby kept stealing glances at them.
Although Bai Yuyan wore a veil, her figure and aura were impossible to hide. One didn’t need to see her face to know she was an absolute beauty.
As for the young man beside her, he looked rather ordinary by comparison.
“Are they Dao companions? I’m so jealous of that guy!”
“Stop, you’re making me so sour. Way more sour than the lemons I ate yesterday!”
People said this because Chu Feng was dressed in blue and Bai Yuyan in red. Although the colors differed, the style and pattern of their robes were exactly the same.
Chu Feng gently rubbed the fabric of his clothes. It was smooth and comfortable.
It was just that one in red, and one in blue….it fit perfectly with that saying: “Since ancient times, red and blue make a couple pairing.” Ahem… better not say the rest of that sentence.
“Junior Brother, how is it? Does the outfit fit well?”
Walking beside Chu Feng, Bai Yuyan turned her head slightly and asked.
“It’s great. Fits perfectly!”
When he put it on, it fit just right. Chu Feng had no idea how Senior Sister Yuyan knew his measurements.
This morning, he’d been dragged out shopping by her. Just hearing the word “shopping” had sent a chill down his spine. Wasn’t it said that shopping with a woman was pure torture?
But to his surprise, Senior Sister Yuyan didn’t step into any cosmetics or jewelry shops they passed.
Thinking about it, it made sense. Senior Sister Yuyan was so beautiful that even without makeup, she could bring down cities. Rouge and jewelry didn’t do much for someone like her.
Of course, when it came to accessories, Chu Feng was interested. Like those ones you wear on your thighs… ahem, not only did they look nice, but they also boosted attack power and speed.
Following Senior Sister Yuyan as she turned left and right through the streets, Chu Feng noticed something strange: the number of vendors hadn’t changed, but there were far fewer pedestrians around. And at some point, Senior Sister Yuyan had removed her veil.
As they walked, it gradually felt like only the two of them were left in this entire area. Strange.
Chu Feng tensed up…. something didn’t feel quite right.
“Junior Brother, is there anything you’d like to eat?”
Bai Yuyan turned her head slightly and asked gently.
“Hmm… anything’s fine, as long as it’s not too gross.”
Chu Feng didn’t consider himself picky. Well, aside from cilantro, of course!
“What about that one?”
Bai Yuyan pointed to the side, and Chu Feng followed her gaze. A middle-aged woman was running a small stall, selling sugar figurines.
Sugar figurines. Chu Feng hadn’t seen those much since growing up. Then again, this was a cultivation world, and the lifestyle resembled ancient times; technology hadn’t developed here yet.
“Sure, it’s been a long time since I’ve had one too.”
Chu Feng replied and walked over to the stall.
“Young ones, would you like to choose from the ones already made, or shall I craft some just for you two?”
The middle-aged woman asked.
“No—”
“Make them based on the two of us.”
Bai Yuyan interrupted before Chu Feng could say “no need”.
“Alright, no problem.”
The woman nodded and immediately got to work.
“Junior Brother, do you like sweets?”
Bai Yuyan suddenly asked.
Sweets, huh…
“I don’t really like them, but I don’t dislike them either. I just eat some once in a while when I feel like it.”
It was precisely because of this that Chu Feng had never gotten cavities as a child.
“Does Senior Sister Yuyan like them?”
“Same as you, Junior Brother. But if it’s a Junior Brother candy, then I’ll eat it every single time~”
Bai Yuyan fixed her gaze on Chu Feng, then playfully stuck out her tongue to lick her rosy lips. Her charm was overflowing.
Uh… what terrible words…
Chu Feng’s face froze.
Before long, the sugar figurines were finished.
Taking it in hand, Chu Feng had to admit, the vendor was truly skilled. The figures were lifelike.
Bai Yuyan reached out and took the one shaped like Chu Feng. Then, parting her lips slightly, she bit right into it.
“Mmm~ Junior Brother tastes so good~”
As she spoke, Bai Yuyan’s beautiful eyes locked onto Chu Feng’s, leaving it unclear whether she meant the candy or something else entirely.
“Junior Brother, aren’t you going to eat yours?”
Bai Yuyan asked, seeing how Chu Feng still hadn’t taken a bite.
“This one… it looks way too much like you, Senior Sister Yuyan.”
To Chu Feng, the little sugar figurine in his hand was practically a work of art. He couldn’t bring himself to eat it.
Shaped in 3D and carefully painted, it could easily be displayed like a collectible figurine.
“Go on, eat it. If you don’t, how will you know if it tastes good?”
Bai Yuyan walked right up to Chu Feng, took his hand, and pushed the sugar figurine straight into his mouth.
“Mmm!”
Caught off guard, Chu Feng suddenly found his mouth stuffed with candy.
He bit down, and sure enough, it really was delicious.
“Junior Brother, does Senior Sister taste good?”
“Good.”
Chu Feng answered instinctively, then immediately realized something was off.
“!!!”
Hearing his words, Bai Yuyan giggled.
Chu Feng opened his mouth. He wanted to say something as he held the sugar figurine in his hand, but in the end, he stayed silent. Yes, silence was golden.
After finishing the sugar figurine, they passed by a fortune-telling stall. Chu Feng wasn’t the least bit interested. If the fortune-teller was truly skilled, why not try predicting their own future first?
Bai Yuyan, however, seemed intrigued. She tugged Chu Feng along and headed toward the stall.
When they arrived, Chu Feng’s eyes widened. Hanging at the side was a banner that read: Only fortunes of love are told. Nothing else!
