Chapter 39: Lap Pillow

Released:

“Haa… haa…”

Chu Feng lay weakly on the ground, his entire body sore and aching. He hadn’t even managed to touch the hem of his master’s robe.

Still, it wasn’t a complete loss. At least she had pointed out his weaknesses. That alone was more helpful than just listening to spell lectures.

“Feng’er, is that all you’ve got?”

Lu Xiyue stood in front of Chu Feng, looking down at him. At that moment, she stood with the light behind her, casting her beautiful eyes into shadow. If she added a look like she was staring at an insect, then lifted her foot… no, he couldn’t even think about that…

“Master, I really… I’ve reached my limit… I can’t go on…”

Chu Feng barely had the strength to lift his hand.

Once Lu Xiyue confirmed that her precious disciple truly had no energy left, she gracefully knelt down and gently cradled his head, softly resting it on her plump thigh.

Chu Feng immediately felt the soft, comforting sensation against the back of his head, while his nose was filled with a delicate smell.

Lu Xiyue curled her red lips into a smile. Her eyes were full of tenderness, and her fluttering lashes gave off a seductive charm that tugged at the heart.

Unfortunately, with Chu Feng’s head now resting on his master’s thigh, his view was completely blocked by her majestic curves, so he couldn’t see the expression on her face at all.

No wonder there’s a saying about drunkenly resting on a beauty’s lap… it really was too comfortable.

Lu Xiyue placed her delicate hands on Chu Feng’s temples and started gently massaging them as her true qi flowed from her fingertips into his body, easing his fatigue.

At that moment, Chu Feng felt an incredibly pleasant sensation spreading from within, radiating through his entire body.

“Feng’er, does that feel good?”

Lu Xiyue lowered her head, and a strand of her silky hair slipped from her temple, lightly brushing against Chu Feng’s face.

“Mmm, it feels great. Thank you, Master.”

As Lu Xiyue continued her massage, all of Chu Feng’s exhaustion seemed to melt away.

However… a certain part of his body began to stir restlessly.

Chu Feng hurriedly circulated his true qi to suppress it.

Of course, Lu Xiyue noticed, but she didn’t say anything. She was just quietly keeping track. When the time came, she’d take full responsibility herself!

After all, hardworking children deserved a big reward!

“Master, I… I think I’ve pretty much recovered now…”

Chu Feng quickly spoke, not daring to lie down any longer. Every part of his master’s body was a serious test of his self-control.

“Shhh…Feng’er, be good and lie down. You need to balance work and rest, understand? With such intense training, your master’s heart aches for you. After all, you’re my one and only precious little disciple~”

As she spoke, Lu Xiyue began to hum softly.

Chu Feng didn’t understand what song his master was humming, but with her voice, it sounded wonderful.

Gradually, drowsiness crept in. Chu Feng’s eyelids began to flutter, and soon he drifted off to sleep.

When Chu Feng awoke again, he found himself lying on a snow-white blanket. A bubbling sound came from nearby.

He turned toward the sound and saw a large cauldron boiling with various medicinal herbs. Bubbles formed and popped one after another.

Chu Feng also realized that all of his clothes had been changed.

“Feng’er.”

A rich, magnetic voice rang out.

Lu Xiyue appeared beside him and asked with concern, “Feng’er, how are you feeling? Still tired?”

“Master!”

Chu Feng could feel that his body was now filled with true qi. In fact, there seemed to be a bit more than before.

But the moment he stood up, a sharp tearing pain shot through his entire body.

“Hiss!”

Chu Feng immediately grimaced in pain. That pain was something else.

“Feng’er, don’t move,” Lu Xiyue quickly supported her beloved disciple, her face full of concern.

“Your body is in an injured state. Don’t move recklessly, or it’ll hurt even more.”

“Master, what happened to me?”

Chu Feng asked through gritted teeth. He didn’t remember getting injured?

“It’s just from overtraining. I warned you before, Feng’er don’t keep cultivating nonstop. You need to relax a bit too.”

Lu Xiyue lightly tapped Chu Feng’s forehead with her slender finger.

Did she?

Chu Feng’s little head was full of big confusion. Did Master ever say that?

“Feng’er, the herbal bath is ready. Hop in and absorb the essence. It’ll help heal your injuries.”

Lu Xiyue gently tilted her snow-white chin in the direction of the bubbling cauldron.

What!?

Chu Feng’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at his master.

“Master… are you… serious?”

Jumping into that thing… it would be bruises everywhere!

“Of course.”

With a wave of Lu Xiyue’s delicate hand, the bubbling herbal bath immediately stopped boiling. The temperature was now perfectly controlled.

In the next instant, Chu Feng’s body floated up and was gently placed into the cauldron with precision.

Splash—

A large wave of liquid splashed up.

“Pwah!”

Chu Feng surfaced and wiped the medicinal liquid from his face only to see his master standing right in front of him.

But now, his master had changed into a different outfit. How should he put it… it revealed just enough in all the right places.

Chu Feng was momentarily stunned.

“Feng’er…”

A hint of shyness appeared on Lu Xiyue’s face.

“S-Sorry, Master!”

Chu Feng quickly turned around. Wait a minute! Something felt off!

Wasn’t he supposed to be absorbing the medicinal essence? Why was his master involved now!?

Just as Chu Feng turned his head to ask, a fragrant breeze brushed past his face.

“Mmph!”

Chu Feng’s eyes widened in shock. That stunningly beautiful face was now just inches away.

And then, the two of them began their shared cultivation session.

Great Yan Empire, Imperial Capital.

The sudden decision by the Empress to hold a martial arts competition among the various sects left many ministers puzzled. They couldn’t understand what Her Majesty was thinking.

But that wasn’t something for ministers to concern themselves with. Their only responsibility was to carry out orders.

That’s how ministers worked: they simply followed commands, while it was the monarch who bore the burden of strategy and long-term planning.

Still, there was one thing the ministers couldn’t comprehend. Why would Her Majesty offer something as precious as a Marrow Cleansing Pill as the prize? There were only six of them in the entire imperial treasury.

At the imperial palace, a graceful and elegant beauty stood atop a pavilion, gazing in the direction of the Heaven’s Pinnacle Sect.

Her face was incredibly beautiful, and her phoenix-like eyes gleamed faintly. Even the loose-fitting golden dragon robe couldn’t hide her elegant and captivating figure.

“Reporting to Your Majesty, the Prime Minister requests an audience.”

A palace maid approached the Empress and spoke respectfully.

“Let him in,” the Empress replied calmly.

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

The maid quickly withdrew.

Soon after, an elderly minister with a graying beard arrived and stopped a short distance from the Empress.

“This old minister greets Your Majesty!”

“No need for formalities. Is the arena ready?”

“Your Majesty, all preparations are complete.”

“Good.”

Then, the Empress took out a portrait from her storage pouch. As she released her hand, the portrait flew on its own to the Prime Minister.

The portrait depicted a young man with delicate features. He looked to be only in his teens.

“Your Majesty, who is this person?”

The Prime Minister assumed that since Her Majesty had deliberately shown him this portrait, the boy must be someone extraordinary.

However, among the outstanding disciples from the sects that had come to participate, he couldn’t recall seeing this young man.

“Who he is… is not your concern.”

The Empress looked toward the direction of the Heaven’s Pinnacle Sect. Her red lips curved slightly, as if she were recalling something that pleased her.

“Remember this: during the First Rank Cultivators Tournament, if any cultivator from the Great Yan encounters this boy…they are to surrender immediately. Understood?”

The Empress’s words left the Prime Minister utterly stunned.

“Your Majesty, this doesn’t seem appropriate! This will surely—”

“I won’t let them suffer any losses. They’ll be compensated accordingly. Just remember. If they see him, they surrender.”

“But, Your Majesty, wouldn’t that invite suspicion? Wouldn’t it be better to feign defeat in the duel?”

“Ha! Prime Minister, if I hear that this boy is injured during the tournament…”

As she spoke, a cold aura slowly began to spread from the Empress’s side, making the Prime Minister break out in a cold sweat.

“Your Majesty! This old servant swears! I will make sure that young master comes to no harm whatsoever!”
