Chapter 79: I, Chu Feng, Accept Responsibility

Released:

Today, news of the Saintess publicly acknowledging a husband spread like wildfire throughout the temporary base in the Sky-Mending Secret Realm.

Some disciples who had just arrived and were unaware of the situation had their gossiping spirits ignited.

“Pah!!”

A female disciple spat out a melon seed shell, then picked up another seed and continued munching as she spoke:

“Tsk tsk, who would’ve thought the Saintess would be into that kind of thing?”

Several female disciples had gathered there, with melon seeds, spirit fruits, and some spirit wine laid out around them.

“Right? I always thought the Saintess liked the strong and rugged type. Never imagined she’d go for a weak, boyish one. Say… doesn’t this count as an older woman preying on a younger man?”

“Bullshit! This is what you call love!”

“Exactly! Not caring about strength or looks…if your heart is moved, just go for it boldly. It’s so romantic!”

“But the question is… did the Saintess actually pursue him?”

“……”

A silence fell over the group. It seemed… she really didn’t. She had just gone straight to making it official.

As for Chu Feng, now at the center of all the gossip, he had been receiving no end of cold stares.

Every time a female disciple saw him, they’d mutter “pervert.”

He tried hard to clear his name, insisting that it really was just a misunderstanding. Back then, he hadn’t seen anything at all….he had only glimpsed a flash of white from a distance, and his eyes were hit with a high-powered glare, blinding him on the spot.

By the time his vision recovered, five murderous-looking female disciples were already standing right in front of him.

Of course, Chu Feng’s explanation was completely ignored by the female disciples of the Holy Land of Yaochi. To them, the truth was never as juicy as the gossip.

Meanwhile, the few male disciples of the Holy Land looked on with faces full of envy and jealousy.

“Damn it! I want a Saintess wife too!”

The Saintess had it all. She had outstanding talent, formidable strength, beauty beyond compare, and a flawless figure. Most of all, she carried an aura of cold elegance, like a heavenly being stepping out of an ink painting.

But the very same Chu Feng, now the object of all the envy, wore a face full of distress.

Because having someone who follows you everywhere you go….literally everywhere was extremely uncomfortable. Especially when that person barely speaks and simply trails behind you in silence and stares at you.

Whenever Chu Feng tried to leave, Liu Xueyao would stop him and say,

“No, the time isn’t right yet.”

Perplexed, Chu Feng asked, “Sister Saintess, what do you mean by that?”

But Liu Xueyao didn’t answer. She just stared quietly at Chu Feng.

Since he couldn’t beat her, Chu Feng chose to endure.

As the saying goes, “Endure, and the storm will pass. Take a step back, and the sea will open wide.”

At first, Chu Feng tried to comfort himself with that old saying, but he soon realized that things weren’t so simple.

The more he tried to endure, the more irritated he became. The more he backed off, the more wronged he felt.

That was the true state of his heart.

However, today, Chu Feng was in high spirits. Because the Saintess, who was always following him around, had gone off to welcome some important figure from the Holy Land of Yaochi.

If he wasn’t going to make a run for it now, then when?!

Just as Chu Feng was about to put his escape plan into action, a few uninvited guests barged in.

“You’re Chu Feng?”

One of them, a disciple in yellow robes, questioned him coldly.

The disciples who entered appeared to be around Chu Feng’s age, and to his surprise…they were all men.

A rare species!

This was the first time Chu Feng had seen any other men in a place that was practically overrun with women.

“I am indeed. May I ask what this is about?”

Chu Feng asked politely. But judging by their tone, it didn’t sound like they were here to make friendly conversation.

“So it is you!”

The yellow-robed disciple sneered and attacked without hesitation.

The yellow-robed disciple instantly appeared in front of Chu Feng and threw a fierce punch, his fist wrapped in yellow true qi, tearing through the air with a sharp whooshing sound.

Chu Feng had already been on guard against the group. Seeing the guy attack without even a word, he thought, Since you don’t want to fight with honor, don’t blame me for being rude.

He sidestepped the punch and immediately summoned Little Bai. After injecting true qi into the sword, it let out a clear sword cry the next moment.

Seeing Chu Feng draw his sword, the yellow-robed disciple didn’t flinch at all. Instead, he charged forward, his entire body enveloped in true qi.

Chu Feng’s eyes narrowed as he slashed out a burst of sword energy.

Clang—!

The sword qi struck the yellow-robed disciple’s body, producing a sharp metallic clash.

So tough!

Chu Feng guessed that the guy must be a body cultivator. Just like the first opponent he’d faced in a martial tournament. But this one had gone even further, tempering his body to become a living weapon.

Chu Feng didn’t choose to face him head-on. His physical strength couldn’t match someone who had spent years refining their body.

Just as the opponent was about to slam into him, Chu Feng kicked off the ground and, using a burst of true qi, launched himself into the air.

Midair, he flipped his wrist and slashed downward. With true qi pouring into the blade, he stabbed at the yellow-robed disciple.

Boom!

With a single strike, Chu Feng sent the yellow-robed disciple flying, slamming him into the wall.

Dust and debris filled the air.

The loud commotion naturally drew the attention of a nearby patrol team. But upon seeing that it was just male disciples from the Holy Land of Yaochi clashing with Chu Feng, they chose not to intervene.

If it weren’t for the Saintess protecting him, they would’ve already broken three of Chu Feng’s legs by now.

Now that the Saintess had gone to greet the elder, it was the perfect opportunity to teach this pervert a lesson.

“What do you want?”

Chu Feng stared at the remaining disciples. He couldn’t recall ever provoking these guys. If it had been female disciples coming to cause trouble, he could’ve understood…but what was their deal?

“Hmph.”

They didn’t answer. The group of young men simply stared at Chu Feng coldly.

At that moment, the yellow-robed disciple emerged from the dust cloud, his clothes tattered and revealing his explosive, muscular physique.

“Well, well. Not bad…you’ve got some moves.”

He cracked his neck and grinned.

“What exactly are you trying to do?”

Chu Feng asked again.

This time, the yellow-robed disciple replied,

“Nothing much. Someone just sent us… to give you a proper beating.”

A beating?

Could it be… her?

A woman flashed through Chu Feng’s mind. It was the very female disciple who had tied him up.

After all, she had been the closest to him at the time.

And besides, she’d been glaring at him with eyes full of resentment the entire time.

But honestly, Chu Feng had only seen a curve or two…ahem, he hadn’t seen anything from the front. They had all been facing away from him.

“Well, if that’s how it is, I’ll take the blame.”

Chu Feng let out a sigh. Since they clearly couldn’t let it go, he would just accept it. After all, he had been the one in the wrong first.

With that, Chu Feng put away Little Bai and dispersed his aura. He stood before the yellow-robed disciple completely unguarded.

“Good! You’ve got guts!”

The yellow-robed disciple praised him. He had thought Chu Feng was a shameless coward, but at least now, the guy was owning up to it.

Bang!

The yellow-robed disciple strode up to Chu Feng and threw a punch at his chest, the force of it tearing through the air.

Chu Feng closed his eyes. Taking this hit would make them even.

“Stop!”

A mature voice rang out.

The crowd parted, revealing a graceful woman in a blue robe. She moved with elegance, her presence as gentle as an orchid. Her long black hair was pinned up with a jade hairpin, exposing her slender neck.

Behind her stood a beautiful young woman with a fairy-like aura. It was none other than Liu Xueyao.
