In the Yaochi Holy Land, the core region is where the elders of the Holy Land and their personally taught disciples operate, or where exceptionally gifted disciples cultivate in seclusion.
It can be said that those in the core region are either high-ranking members of the Holy Land or its most talented disciples. Ordinary disciples can hardly set foot here.
However, one thing is certain: there are virtually no men in this place. Even male elders from the outer sect are not allowed to enter the core region without a direct summons.
And yet, in the past two days, a rumor has been rapidly spreading throughout the core region….that someone saw a young man leisurely strolling around inside.
This was a shocking and explosive piece of gossip!
Some disciples didn’t believe it and even mocked those spreading the rumor, asking if they were lovesick to the point of hallucinating about men.
Some even claimed to have seen Her Highness the Saintess being intimately affectionate with that boy.
That was even more impossible. Her Highness the Saintess had been cultivating diligently in the Holy Land year-round. It was said she had left the Holy Land so few times that they could be counted on one hand. So how could she possibly know any men?
What’s more, the Saintess’s aunt, Elder Liu, absolutely hated men getting anywhere near Her Highness. So clearly, these were all rumors. Pure, baseless nonsense.
But as time went on, the rumor grew more and more outrageous. Some even claimed to have seen the young man enter the Holy Master’s palace!

On a stone bridge, clear stream water flowed beneath the arch. Chu Feng sat on the bridge, gazing at his reflection in the water, and let out a sigh.
He had already been staying in the Yaochi Holy Land for two or three days now. Every day, without fail, began with a large pot of medicinal soup, followed by lying in place, bitter enough to question the meaning of life.
Occasionally, he would go out for a walk to clear his mind. But whether it was Liu Xueyao or Liu Shijing, they both repeatedly warned him: don’t wander too far, and above all, don’t let anyone see you.
Well… Chu Feng had a feeling that quite a few people had already seen him.
There was nothing he could do. Right now, he didn’t dare circulate his true qi. The moment he did, the cold yin energy within his body would become active and start corroding his meridians. Only by refraining from using true qi would the yin energy stay quiet and obedient.
Then, with the aid of the spiritual medicine personally prepared by the Holy Master, he could slowly dissolve the yin energy using the medicinal effects.
After a few days of this process, the dark purple mark on his chest had noticeably shrunk by nearly a full circle. At this rate, he figured he’d be fully healed in at most two and a half months.
But… it was just so boring.
Liu Shijing, being an elder, was quite busy, so he didn’t get to see her much which Chu Feng was honestly quite happy about.
As for Liu Xueyao, she no longer stuck to him like before. She was either brewing spiritual medicine or cultivating diligently, saying things like, “I have to get stronger to avenge my husband.”
Seeing how bored her “husband” was, Liu Xueyao had thoughtfully brought him a few different books and some cultivation techniques suited for men.
Chu Feng looked at the books in front of him. He wanted to read them but couldn’t make sense of them.
Now, he was sitting on the bridge, fiddling with the Five-Colored Stone in his hand. He was holding it up for a closer look… but still couldn’t see anything particularly awe-inspiring about it.
Suddenly, Chu Feng heard a commotion approaching from not far away.
Crap. Someone’s coming.
Chu Feng quickly ducked into a nearby bush. Fortunately, since he couldn’t circulate his true qi at the moment, his presence was extremely faint. Otherwise, such a simple hiding spot would’ve easily been exposed through spiritual sense.
“Dear sister Yuejun, why are you walking so fast? I can barely keep up!”
A flirtatious voice rang out, and two graceful figures entered Chu Feng’s field of vision.
One was a woman dressed in yellow, her smiling eyes giving off a seductive fox-like charm.
The other was a young girl in red, wearing a fitted outfit, with a long black whip coiled at her waist. Her figure was curvy and bold, exuding a spirited heroic air.
“Hmph! I know exactly what you’re thinking. No matter what you say, it’s useless. Becoming the Holy Master’s personal disciple isn’t something I can decide.”
The red-clothed girl spoke with clear displeasure.
The woman in yellow giggled at this and said, “Everyone in the Holy Land knows that you, Yuejun, are the Holy Master’s adopted daughter. As long as you say a few kind words for your big sister in front of the Holy Master, whether it’s spirit stones or magical artifacts, I’ll gladly offer them up with both hands.”
The corners of the red-clothed girl’s mouth lifted into a cold smirk. “Those things? I don’t lack any of them!”
From his hiding spot in the bushes, Chu Feng watched the two walk away into the distance before finally stepping out.
The Holy Master’s adopted daughter? Damn, that’s a big connection to have! No wonder that woman in yellow was so eager just now. She was practically drooling with desire.
Looks like no matter where you go, clinging to someone powerful is what many people aim for.
But this has nothing to do with me. I’d better head back. If someone sees me here, I’ll be in big trouble.”
Chu Feng returned to the small courtyard, pushed open the front gate, and was met with the sight of a bubbling medicinal broth in the yard. In an instant, it was as if his mouth was filled with bitterness.
A bitter expression came over Chu Feng’s face. He looked away from the medicine; it stirred up unpleasant memories.
“Sister Saintess, I’m back.”
Chu Feng pushed open the door…then froze on the spot.
A young girl in red with her clothes partially undone and a delicate shoulder exposed was staring at Chu Feng in shock, her beautiful face full of surprise.
“…….”
Chu Feng quietly closed the door again.
I must have opened the door the wrong way.
There’s no way that red-clothed girl I just saw could actually be here. There’s only me and the Saintess in this room. It had to be a hallucination! Yes, definitely!
Chu Feng took a deep breath and opened the door again—
Then came a sharp smack! The next moment, a black shadow flew toward him.
Chu Feng instantly ducked. A long whip cracked against the door panel.
The red-clothed girl had already tied up her clothes again. Her face burned with shame and fury.
She gritted her teeth and shouted, “Pervert!”
Smack!
After shouting, the girl in red swung her whip at Chu Feng once again.
At this point, Chu Feng could confirm for sure….it wasn’t a hallucination.
Feeling the force of the whip as it narrowly missed him, he quickly raised his hand and said, “Wait! Miss, let me explain!”
Right now, Chu Feng was completely numb. Ever since arriving at the Yaochi Holy Land, he couldn’t tell if his luck was ridiculously good with women or just downright terrible. How had he ended up in so many misunderstandings!? It’s not like he’s some kind of peach blossom god!
“No more nonsense! Prepare to die, pervert!”
The girl in red looked like she wouldn’t rest until Chu Feng was beaten to death.
Seeing her swing the whip again, Chu Feng quickly dodged, then grabbed a long stick from the corner and wielded it like a sword.
In the next moment, the whip lashed out, and Chu Feng used the wooden stick to block. The whip coiled tightly around it like a snake.
“Ugh!”
Chu Feng used all his strength, tugging back and forth with the girl in red.
Just then, a cold, clear voice rang out.
“Husband.”
Hearing the voice, Chu Feng immediately turned his head and saw Liu Xueyao.
His heart skipped a beat.
In that instant, while distracted, his grip weakened and his body was yanked forward.
The red-clothed girl hadn’t pulled back in time, and her eyes widened as the dark figure came crashing toward her.
Thud—
Chu Feng fell toward the girl in red. At the last moment, he quickly braced his hand against the ground to avoid ending up in the same misunderstanding he’d had with Liu Shijing.
Smack!
Chu Feng’s right hand landed beside the girl in red. Their faces were inches apart.
In that moment, Chu Feng recalled a classic anime scene: the “kabe-don (wall slam)”.
But in this case, that didn’t quite fit. This should probably be called a “floor-don” instead.
