Chapter 211: I Really Messed Up Again

Published on

After Chu Feng and the others emerged from beneath the Jia family estate, they saw the Liu family in the middle of transferring the Jia family’s assets. Magical artifacts, pills, cultivation manuals….everything was being taken away.

Some members of the Liu family were even prying up expensive stone slabs. Anyone unaware of the situation would have thought a band of robbers was looting the estate rather than the Liu family taking it over.

As for the remaining members of the Jia family, the Liu family had no intention of taking them in. They were nothing but a burden. Thus, they were ordered to leave with nothing. All property and possessions were confiscated, while the people themselves were allowed to go.

Not slaughtering the entire clan was already considered merciful. In the cultivation world, the rise and fall of every faction was accompanied by bloody massacres.

Compassion? Mercy?

Sorry, but people with those traits tended to die miserable deaths in the cultivation world.

Oh, and to prevent these members of the Jia family from seeking revenge in the future, all of their cultivation had been crippled, and their spirit roots destroyed.

After Venerable Huahai took the Demon Stone away for research and the old man departed as well, Liu Shijing felt it was time to properly discipline Xueyao. Recently, Xueyao had been paying less and less attention to her authority as her aunt.

In the past, whatever she said, Xueyao would never talk back.

But now? Not only did she ignore her instructions, she even forced her…well, not that she had been entirely unwilling to do such embarrassing things.

Yet when the words reached her lips, she hesitated.

She simply did not know how to bring it up.

How could she possibly say something like, “Xueyao, from now on you’re not allowed to be so rebellious and pin your aunt down while kissing that brat”?

After all, she had personally experienced what it meant to have two mouths and not enough attention to spare.

“Aunt?”

Seeing the troubled expression on the mature beauty’s face, Liu Xueyao asked,

“Aunt Jing, is something bothering you?”

“N-No!”

Feeling Chu Feng’s gaze on her, Liu Shijing could not help recalling all the absurd scenes that had unfolded over these past days.

Looking at Liu Shijing’s expression, Chu Feng instinctively put some distance between himself and the two women.

Because he felt that Aunt Jing probably had something she wanted to say to Sister Saintess. And whatever it was, it was most likely related to Sister Saintess.

That night, Aunt Jing, playing the role of a female knight, had been pushed down by Sister Saintess. Then Sister Saintess had pulled him up, intertwined their fingers, and pressed her lips against his.

The one who had suffered the most was Aunt Jing. She had worked tirelessly, not only tolerating his shameless behavior but also taking care of Sister Saintess.

Noticing that the brat had tactfully moved away, Liu Shijing immediately grabbed her niece, who seemed ready to follow after him.

“Aunt?”

Liu Xueyao looked puzzled that her aunt was stopping her from following her husband.

Looking at Xueyao’s cold, beautiful face, Liu Shijing pursed her lips before saying,

“Xueyao, no matter what, I’m the one who raised you. I’m not saying you have to listen to everything I say, but at the very least, you should show your aunt some respect.”

“Mm. I’ve always respected Aunt.”

Liu Xueyao replied calmly.

Liu Shijing decided she needed to properly establish her authority as an aunt. Otherwise, if things continued like this, she might one day end up calling Xueyao “Big Sister.”

And that simply would not do!

***

Sharing a husband with her own niece had already required an enormous amount of resolve. But after entering the household, if she were expected to call her niece “Big Sister” as well, that would truly be turning the natural order upside down!

With nothing better to do, Chu Feng wandered around the Jia family estate. Along the way, every Liu family elder who saw him treated him with the utmost respect, addressing him one after another as “Young Master.”

During the ceremony earlier, Liu Shijing had personally acknowledged Chu Feng as her Dao companion. And now that Liu Shijing had become the Liu family’s Ancestor, Chu Feng had effectively risen to a position second only to her within the entire Liu family.

One of the Liu family elders spotted him and hurried over with a flattering smile.

“Young Master, if there’s anything that catches your eye, please feel free to take it. No need to be polite.”

During the transfer of assets, it was inevitable that some members of the Liu family would develop selfish thoughts and pocket a few valuables for themselves. This elder was no exception. He had already helped himself to some treasures and hoped to drag Chu Feng into it as well. If anyone investigated later, he could simply claim that the Young Master had taken them.

Chu Feng glanced at the elder. With his shifty eyes and sneaky appearance, Chu Feng felt that compared to being a member of the Liu family, this man was far better suited to being part of the Jia family.

He was practically Captain Jia Number Two.

“No thanks. These things are pretty ordinary.”

Chu Feng could easily tell that the man was harboring ulterior motives. Playing mind games with these old foxes was more trouble than it was worth.

Besides, thanks to the pampering he had received from Lu Xiyue, Ji Yuhuang, Zi Xiner, and Su Tiantian, the treasures he had seen far surpassed anything the Jia family possessed.

The elder merely laughed awkwardly and dared not say anything further. He could only pray that the Young Master had not noticed him secretly taking some valuables earlier.

Suddenly, a fragrant floral scent drifted through the air.

Turning around, Chu Feng saw Venerable Huahai walking toward him.

“This junior greets Venerable Huahai.”

Chu Feng immediately offered a respectful salute.

Venerable Huahai gently raised a hand and said with a smile,

“Young Master Chu is being too formal.”

Then she took out the Demon Stone that she had previously received from Chu Feng.

“Young Master Chu, in my opinion, it would be best if this Demon Stone remained in your possession for the time being.”

“Venerable Huahai, why is that?”

Chu Feng accepted the Demon Stone with a puzzled expression, only to discover that it was noticeably larger than before.

“Why has it gotten bigger?”

“To be honest, it’s because of me.”

“Because of you, Senior Huahai?”

“Mm.” A trace of embarrassment flashed across Venerable Huahai’s face as she explained, “After obtaining this Demon Stone and studying it for a while, I realized that it was actually absorbing my true qi to strengthen itself.”

If she remembered correctly, when she had first taken the stone from Chu Feng, it had shown no signs of absorbing his true qi.

The Demon Stone’s absorption ability was so powerful that even she, an eighth-rank cultivator, could not resist it. A tiny stone like this had steadily drained her energy.

“What?!”

Hearing that the stone could absorb even Venerable Huahai’s true qi, Chu Feng was astonished. He immediately circulated his own true qi and deliberately poured it into the Demon Stone.

Yet the stone did not absorb his true qi at all.

On the contrary, it seemed to reject it.

Venerable Huahai was thoroughly baffled by the sight. In the end, she decided to leave the Demon Stone with Chu Feng for now. Once they returned to the Jade Pool Holy Land, she would have the Holy Master examine it personally.

**

One had to admit, this truly was a cultivation world.

The Jia family possessed an enormous fortune, yet the Liu family managed to move every last bit of it within a single day. They even dismantled the estate itself and packed it up to take back with them.

As for the mine beneath the estate, Venerable Huahai placed a seal over it to preserve the evidence.

She had a feeling that this mine might very well become the beginning of the Myriad Saints Palace’s downfall.

The members of the Liu family boarded their spirit vessel and returned home loaded to the brim.

They had struck it rich.

After returning to his room which had now been upgraded to the residence of the Liu family’s Ancestor, Chu Feng took out the Demon Stone.

It was now nearly as large as his fist.

“Absorbs true qi? That’s strange. Why doesn’t it absorb mine?”

Gathering sword qi at his fingertip, he fired it at the Demon Stone.

Clang!

A crisp metallic sound rang out as the Demon Stone emerged completely unscathed.

Not only that, it reflected the sword qi back at him, instantly cutting his finger.

“Hiss!”

It was the first time Chu Feng had ever been injured by his own sword qi. By sheer coincidence, the drop of blood that fell from his finger landed directly on the Demon Stone.

Crack… crack…

Fine fissures began spreading across the stone’s surface.

“Oh crap! Please don’t break!”

Startled, Chu Feng hurried forward. Before he could do anything else, a beam of black light shot out from the Demon Stone and plunged into his body.

“This is bad!”

He immediately tried to circulate his true qi to expel it.

But the moment his true qi came into contact with the black light, it was devoured completely.

At that point, Chu Feng felt like crying.

Earlier, he had wanted the Demon Stone to absorb his true qi, but it stubbornly refused.

Now that he did not want it absorbing his true qi, it was devouring all of it without restraint.

Even the last trace of frigid yin power remaining inside his body began to stir.

Finally, when the frigid yin energy merged with the black light, an overwhelming chill erupted from within Chu Feng.

I really messed this up…

Chu Feng could only laugh bitterly to himself.

If he had known this would happen, he never would have recklessly tested it with sword qi.

“Husband!”

“You little brat!”

Two alarmed cries suddenly rang out.
