In the mist-shrouded canyon, the usual silence had been shattered. With one explosive shout after another, thunderous booms rang out, and the shockwaves from the blasts swept the fog away.
The ghostly purple figures seemed endless. No matter how many were slain, more continued to emerge without end.
A flash of sword light streaked past, and a ghostly purple figure dispersed with it, leaving behind only a purple bead the size of a thumb.
Chu Feng bent down and picked it up. He remembered the elder saying that these beads were to be collected and handed over once they reached the Demon Suppression Tower.
Chu Feng toyed with the bead in his hand. It felt cold to the touch, and there was nothing particularly unusual about its appearance. But when he sent his true qi into it, he immediately sensed a violent, restless power within. Presumably, this was demonic qi.
He didn’t give it much thought and put the bead into his storage pouch. Most of these figures were at the second or third rank. Occasionally, he encountered one at the fourth rank, but even then it was only at the early fourth rank. Their strength was nothing special; they knew no techniques and made no attempt to dodge, only charging straight at you.
He found a high vantage point and gazed into the distance. Apart from the fog, there was nothing but rock. As for human figures, there were quite a few. Unfortunately, none of them were alive.
Chu Feng wasted no time and quickened his pace forward. As he gradually ventured deeper, the true qi within his body also began to be affected, becoming somewhat restless and violent.
Whenever his true qi grew agitated, he could sense the black light inside him stirring restlessly as well, even beginning to absorb that violent restlessness.
This left him completely puzzled. Just what exactly was that black light?
It could torment him, yet it could also benefit him.
As evening approached, Chu Feng reached a stream. With the setting of the sun, the fog within the canyon began to thicken.
Su Tiantian suggested that they spend the night here and get some rest.
Chu Feng had no objections. After setting up the tent, he turned around and saw a fire burning nearby. Above the flames, two fish had been skewered on stone rods.
Su Tiantian, meanwhile, was dressed in a flowing silver gown today, sitting sideways atop a rock.
“Little rascal, come on, have a taste of this Empress’s cooking!”
She handed the grilled fish to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng took the fish and sat down beside her, asking, “Big Sister Tiantian, where did you get all this?”
“The flames are this Empress’s Samadhi True Fire. As for the fish, this Empress knew before coming here that there were no living creatures in this place, so I prepared some food beforehand.”
Su Tiantian had come fully prepared for today. After all, for the next few days, it would be just her and the little rascal together, with no one else around to disturb them.
As for Liu Xueyao and Bai Yuyan…sorry, but when it came to the Fourth Conference on the Custody of the Little Rascal at the Hundred Races Academy, she had emerged victorious.
“Quick, try it! How’s this Empress’s cooking?”
She urged him impatiently. Ever since tasting the little rascal’s cooking, she had been determined to recreate that flavor for quite some time.
Chu Feng took a bite. The fish had been cooked to just the right degree, but the taste…
His brows furrowed. Only then did he realize that the fish hadn’t even been gutted!
“Sister Tiantian, why didn’t you remove the innards?!”
No wonder it tasted so bitter and fishy.
“Huh? You’re supposed to remove them?”
That question actually stumped the mighty Empress of the Demon Race, because from the perspective of the Demon Race, before gaining sentience, any prey they caught would simply be ripped open and eaten whole.
And even after members of the Demon Race gained sentience, their diets retained the habits they had from before their minds awakened.
“But little rascal, the chicken you made for this Empress before had innards too, didn’t it?”
The Empress tilted her head, seemingly unable to understand.
All right, sure enough, there was an invisible generation gap between humans and demons.
Still, this was fish that Sister Tiantian had personally grilled for him. No matter how bad it tasted, he would finish it.
Watching Sister Tiantian eat bite after bite without the slightest change in expression, he couldn’t help wondering if this was simply how the Demon Race preferred their food.
By the time they finished the grilled fish, night had fallen. The temperature was also beginning to drop, and with autumn already upon them, the chill came especially quickly.
Just as Chu Feng was about to get up and return to the tent, a fair, slender arm suddenly wrapped around him.
“Sister Tiantian, you…”
Chu Feng had barely turned his head when his words abruptly died in his throat.
By the light of the fire, he could clearly see Sister Tiantian mere inches away. Her strapless dress barely contained her enormous curves, squeezing them together into a deep abyss that seemed capable of swallowing even the firelight itself.
A teasing smile flickered in Su Tiantian’s beautiful eyes. Her arm slowly tightened as her delicate body leaned forward, and that deep valley immediately swallowed Chu Feng’s arm.
Chu Feng’s expression changed abruptly. He tried to pull away, but Sister Tiantian was holding him far too tightly for him to break free.
Su Tiantian rested her pointed chin on his shoulder, her red lips parting as her fragrant breath brushed against him. “Why are you running? Is the little rascal afraid this Empress will eat you up?”
No, it wasn’t that he was afraid Sister Tiantian would eat him. What he was afraid of was that, in the end, he would be the one forced to do the eating… while pinned beneath her.
“Sister Tiantian, isn’t this place a little… inappropriate?”
It wasn’t that he was being overly conservative. He simply wasn’t sure his body could take it.
Based on his experiences with his Master, Sister Wan’er, and Aunt Jing, he had come to one conclusion: the older they were, the greedier they became. Their demands were simply insatiable.
No normal person could withstand that kind of torment.
And with their powerful cultivation bases, they never seemed to get tired in the slightest.
He was still so young. He certainly didn’t want goji berries to become a permanent fixture in his life.
Su Tiantian blinked, then giggled. “Little rascal, you’re being naughty. Your head is filled with nothing but adult thoughts.”
Chu Feng’s face flushed bright red. “Slander! That’s slander!”
He wanted to be a pure and innocent good boy too, but alas, one was shaped by the company one kept. He was surrounded by older women whose attitudes were even more open-minded than those of a modern man like himself.
In the end, the scenery around them distorted. By the time everything returned to normal, Chu Feng was already lying inside the tent.
His eyes immediately widened. No way!!
“S-Sister Tiantian, what are you doing now?”
Su Tiantian hugged Chu Feng, who was a head shorter than her, and said, “It gets too cold at night, so this Empress needs to hold the little rascal for warmth. Now stay still and behave yourself, understand?”
“For warmth?!”
Chu Feng nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood. Sister Tiantian, you’re the Empress of the Demon Race, a mighty ninth-rank cultivator, and you’re actually saying you’re cold?!
“What? You don’t believe me, little rascal?” Su Tiantian took Chu Feng’s hand and smiled mysteriously. “If you don’t believe me, you can check for yourself. Is it warm? Or is it chilly?”
As she spoke, the deep valley swallowed his little paw.
Sure enough, the great seniors of the older generation hadn’t lied to me. In this cold, unforgiving world, there is only one thing that remains forever warm.
At this point, Chu Feng no longer dared to say anything, afraid that something else might happen.
However, Su Tiantian had no intention of letting such a perfect opportunity go to waste. With no one around to disturb them, she could tease the little rascal to her heart’s content.
For example, an older sister ought to show some concern for whether her little brother’s body had grown. A young man was still at the age when his body was developing, after all, and every part of him was growing.
Her delicate hands continued kneading and squeezing until Chu Feng finally couldn’t bear it anymore and said:
“S-Sister Tiantian, please… have mercy…”
If she kept playing with him like this, he was definitely going to be left painfully worked up and unable to sleep tonight.
Su Tiantian gave him a playful smile. “Little rascal, this Empress is merely cold and warming her hands. Besides, as this Empress’s toy, you’re not allowed to casually talk back to your master.”
Tonight was destined to be a sleepless one.
