After the round of punishment, Chu Feng had almost thought Sister Tiantian was really going to eat him alive.
He touched his cheeks. They were a little sore, and he didn’t even need to guess. There were definitely quite a few bite marks left on his face.
“Mmm~ Little rascal, just stay like this. This Empress likes it very much.”
Su Tiantian said with great satisfaction. This hateful little rascal actually imagined treating her like that deep down.
At first, she had been both embarrassed and furious. After all, she was the mighty Empress of the Demon Race.
“Got it.”
Chu Feng covered his cheeks. This could practically count as an unusual form of disfigurement. If anyone saw him like this after he got out, he would never be able to hold his head up again.
Just imagine it… everyone else would be covered in wounds, while his face alone would be covered in bite marks. What kind of looks would people give him?
As the mist surged once more, sure enough, the next illusions to appear were Senior Sister Yuyan, Sister Saintess, and Aunt Jing.
However, Chu Feng didn’t spare those illusions so much as a second glance and simply continued forward.
After walking for a long while, they finally emerged from the mist.
Up ahead stood the Demon-Suppressing Tower, where an elder had already been waiting for quite some time.
Upon seeing Chu Feng, the elder gave him a slight nod. But when his gaze moved past Chu Feng and landed on Su Tiantian, he bowed and said, “This old man is Zhang Zhufeng, Dean of the Sword Dao Department. Greetings, Your Majesty, Empress of the Demon Race.”
Su Tiantian’s intrusion into the Yin Demon Gorge had long since been noticed by Zhang Zhufeng. At first, he had assumed the Demon Empress would take the boy straight to the finish line in one go. But just as he was preparing to intervene, the Empress stopped and, from beginning to end, never once helped the boy.
This made Zhang Zhufeng pay a little more attention to Chu Feng. So this was the person the Vice Dean had personally made an exception to admit? His sword intent was quite impressive. He was indeed a promising talent.
“This Empress doesn’t like wasting words. Since you already know who I am, open the Demon-Suppressing Tower and let my little rascal inside.”
Su Tiantian spoke lazily, showing no trace of courtesy despite facing the Dean of the Sword Dao Department.
Zhang Zhufeng smiled. “I’m afraid that won’t be possible. I’ll have to trouble Your Majesty to wait a little longer. According to the academy’s rules, there must be at least ten people before anyone can enter.”
“Oh? Are you questioning this Empress’s strength?”
Su Tiantian’s fingers paused as she idly played with her nails. A cold gleam flashed through her beautiful eyes, and an icy aura swept out from her body.
Zhang Zhufeng let out a muffled grunt. She had merely released her aura, yet it was already enough to make him struggle. What terrifying strength. As expected of the Demon Race Empress!
“I wouldn’t dare, Your Majesty. But the rules are the rules. I hope Your Majesty can do this old man the courtesy of abiding by them.”
The rule had been established to prevent students in smaller groups from being surrounded and attacked by demons. Although there was no need to worry about that with Chu Feng, what would happen in the future if he made an exception this time?
Once the rules were broken, it would be difficult to convince anyone to follow them in the future.
At that moment, Chu Feng gently tugged on Su Tiantian’s sleeve and whispered, “Sister Tiantian, let’s just follow the rules. We only have to wait a little longer. I can afford to wait.”
He hurriedly stopped Sister Tiantian. With her personality, if a fight actually broke out, this entire Demon-Suppressing Tower would probably be reduced to ashes. If that happened, they would truly make an enemy of the Hundred Races Academy.
One more friend meant one less enemy. Now that Lin Ruo had joined the All Saints Palace, its title as the number one righteous sect was enough to show that both its foundation and strength were anything but ordinary.
Su Tiantian looked at the little rascal for a moment before saying, “For my little rascal’s sake, this Empress will show you some courtesy.”
Zhang Zhufeng thanked her. “Many thanks, Your Majesty. And many thanks to you as well, young friend.”
Zhang Zhufeng then gave Chu Feng a few instructions, mostly warning him to be careful of the demons inside the Demon-Suppressing Tower. Then again, there was hardly any need to worry about this young man. With the Demon Race Empress by his side, there probably wasn’t a single demon inside the tower capable of harming so much as a hair on his head.
And so, Chu Feng waited there for the groups behind him to arrive. The Demon-Suppressing Tower could only be opened once enough people had gathered.
He waited and waited until he was bored out of his mind, eventually squatting on the ground and idly drawing circles with his finger.
Finally, just as his patience was about to run out, someone emerged.
Taking a closer look, he realized there were quite a few of them.
He stood up, stamped his slightly numb feet, and said indifferently, “You guys are way too slow. I’ve been waiting here for nearly half a day.”
To his surprise, he had expected Qian Shao and the others to emerge first, but it turned out to be someone else.
This group of more than a dozen people was probably the strongest team. Chu Feng roughly sensed their cultivation levels and found that all of them were at the Fourth Grade or above.
He even recognized one of them. The young man who had led him inside when he first arrived.
When Chu Feng recognized Cao Yunxiao, Cao Yunxiao recognized him as well.
After his initial shock, Cao Yunxiao noticed the enchanting woman beside Chu Feng and quickly understood what had happened. He gave a wry smile. It seemed the prize for first place would most likely fall into this young man’s hands.
Pang Zhu didn’t know Chu Feng. Seeing that someone had actually beaten them here, he was immediately taken aback.
“Young brother, I am Pang Zhu from Heaven-Rank Class One. May I ask who you are?”
“Heaven-Rank Class Three, Xiang Gong.”
Chu Feng glanced at the group before him. There were enough people now, which meant they could finally enter the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
There was still one question on his mind. Had Qian Shao not made it out yet?
After all, he had accepted the man’s spirit stones and promised to bring him to the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
Not long afterward, three more figures emerged from the mist. They were none other than Qian Shao and his two companions.
Buzz!
Once the formation sensed that enough people had gathered, it activated. Spiritual energy rippled through the surroundings, and the entire ground beneath their feet began to tremble.
Immediately afterward, a voice echoed between heaven and earth.
“The Demon-Suppressing Tower is now open. Whoever reaches the ninth floor first will take first place. We will not interfere with anything that happens inside the tower, but remember—do not take the lives of your fellow disciples.”
As the Demon-Suppressing Tower opened, dense demonic qi could be seen filling its interior.
Chu Feng considered what had just been said. They wouldn’t interfere with anything, so long as no fellow disciple was killed. In other words, once they entered the tower, they would have to guard not only against the demons but also against attacks from their fellow disciples as well.
This really was somewhat beyond his expectations.
Before Chu Feng could give it much thought, Pang Zhu and the others swiftly entered the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
Not daring to delay, he immediately followed after them.
Inside the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
As far as the eye could see, there was nothing but wilderness. Rather than the inside of a tower, it looked more like a small world of its own.
Demonic qi permeated the air, hindering the circulation of true qi.
Just then, a wisp of flame suddenly appeared.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
The flames formed a tunnel, from which a blood-red figure slowly emerged.
The figure was thin, yet exceptionally tall, standing over two meters by Chu Feng’s estimate. Its chest was bare, and it wielded a massive hammer.
Sinister yin energy continuously poured from its body, its aura growing stronger with every step it took.
So this was… a demon?
Chu Feng flipped his palm, and the Human Emperor Sword appeared in his hand. There was no one else around, so he didn’t have to worry about anyone noticing it.
The figure spoke in a sinister voice, “Brat, the scent of your blood… it smells absolutely delicious. It’s been a long time since I’ve smelled blood this delectable. Hehe. Don’t worry, I’ll take my time and savor that delicious blood of yours, one mouthful at a time!”
Bang!
The figure suddenly launched itself into the air, raising its massive hammer and smashing it viciously down at Chu Feng.
Chu Feng’s gaze sharpened. Sword intent erupted from his body as sword qi gathered around him.
For a moment, the ringing of swords echoed incessantly.
At that very instant, an enchanting figure appeared beside the young man.
